The American Advertising Federation (AAF) has a strong Columbus chapter that provides great opportunities to get to know the people and businesses in the industry. I've been a part of AAF Columbus since coming back here from Los Angeles and have appreciated, more than anything, the friendships I've made.
Last year, I was able to work with Chrystie Reep and other Education Committee volunteers to create The Pitch 2015. It's a student advertising competition that takes place over the course of a single day allowing students to work inside an agency with their teams to concept ideas for increasing visibility and cause awareness for a local non-profit. This year's program will benefit Pride Family Network, an organization supporting LGBT parents and prospective parents.
There's a single recommendation that came from a student who participated last year that expresses the value of The Pitch 2016: "Today helped make sense of all the classes I've taken."
