Philanthropitch Columbus 2019

Philanthropitch Columbus made it’s debut last night and it was an event I’d love to attend every week if that would be possible. It’s great to see over $100,000 given to our worthy community philanthropies. Philanthropitch began in Austin and arrived this year in Columbus at the Speaker Jo Ann Davidson Theatre in the Riffe Center. Last night’s program was presented by Kiwanis Club of Columbus and Co-hosted by SocialVentures.

Philanthropitch is a social impact fast pitch competition on a mission to scale innovative nonprofits. With over one million dollars raised in donations since its founding, Philanthropitch accelerates nonprofits by providing the risk capital they need to expand their impact and fund initiatives that aren’t covered by traditional grants.

Nonprofits that step onto the Philanthropitch stage not only gain access to capital, they receive top notch pitch coaching and build awareness amongst new fans including donors, mentors and passionate volunteers.

Founded in 2013 in Austin, Texas, Philanthropitch brings together a diverse group of high-impact, cause-based organizations for one of the most exciting social innovation events in cities across the U.S..

The 2019 Finalists were: ECDI, Equitas Health, Modcon Living, Furniture Bank of Central Ohio, Freedom a la Cart, ROX and YMCA of Central Ohio. Giant-sized checks for varying amounts were distributed to all of the finalists with the largest amount of funding going to ROX, Ruling Our Experiences. Congratulations to all of the finalists!
